Anna Marie Hansen

   Anna Marie Hansen, 90, of South Sioux City, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE.    Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, at 1st Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE. with Rev. Douglas Dill officiating.   There will be a lunch in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M. in Taylor Cemetery, rural Homer, NE.    Visitation will be Friday at Becker – Hunt Funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M., with family present at 6 P.M. and a prayer service at 7pm   Anna Marie Hansen was born February 21, 1927 at home near Homer, NE, to Sigurd and Christine (Johnson) Jorgensen.     She was baptized in the Danish Church in Homer, NE on May 22, 1927.     At a very early age moved to the family home near Hubbard, NE, where she grew up. She attended Plum Grove rural school through 8th grade. Anna Marie graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1944.     After graduation she worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. and The Sioux City Journal. Later she worked for Woolco and in the office of the Foundry Division of the Sioux City Foundry for 18 years.    On November 22, 1947 she married Kenneth D. Hansen in Sioux City, IA. They farmed in the Jackson/Willis area and the Hubbard area until moving into Hubbard in 1982.    Kenneth passed away on March 2, 2001. They had been married 53 years.    Anna Marie was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hubbard and a member of the ELCWA Faith Circle. Also, a member of the Hillside Club of Hubbard.    She enjoyed reading, doing embroidery, latch hook work, working with her flowers and spending time with her family.     She is survived by her five children: Melvin (Patty) Hansen of South Sioux City, NE, Beverly (Kenneth) Sell of Arvada, CO, Marsha (Gene) Sardeson of Sioux City, IA, Kevin (Vikki) Hansen of South Sioux, NE and Roger (Joan) Hansen of Sioux City, IA. 12 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren. Her sister, Betty (Kenneth Van Zandbergan) of Omaha and sister-in-law Martha Albrecht of South Sioux. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a god son.   Anna Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, 4 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law and a grandson.    Honorary pall bearers will be Jessica Mielke, Stacie Jenkins, Sara Van Roekel, Amanda Hansen, Caroline Hansen, Katrina Hansen, Sarah Sell and Lizzie Konz.     Pallbearers will be Jerrod Sell, Matt Hansen, Tim Hansen, Zach Hansen, Joseph Hansen, Robert Mielke, Aaron Jenkins and Heath Van Roekel.            The family is requesting donations to Hospice of Siouxland in lieu of flowers or the charity of your choice.
