Ronald E. Hirsch went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Services for Ronald E. Hirsch, 74 of South Sioux City, NE will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church west of Dakota City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Family will be present starting at 6 p.m. Ronald Edward Hirsch was born January 11, 1943 in Sioux City the son of Edward and Lillian (Cook) Hirsch. He was baptized at First Lutheran in South Sioux City and confirmed at Salem Lutheran where he served on church council and various other committees. He attended various rural schools and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1961. He worked at Banana Market, IBP, Farner Bocken, CF Paulsen Construction for 30 years and owned and operated Ron Hirsch Construction for 20 years. Ron married Roxie J. Dublinske on January 24, 1976 at Odebolt, IA. He enjoyed feeding birds, squirrels, rabbits and other animals. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed camping and was a fan of Husker Athletics and South Sioux City Cardinal athletics. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his wife Roxie of 41 years, 2 sons Erik (Tracy) Hirsch and their children Brady, Clover, Nora; Aaron Hirsch, two daughters Cyndy (Billy) Grider, Kristy Terry and her children, Katy, Doug and Kristina, 3 great grandchildren, one brother Stanley Binkley, one sister Judy (Larry) Hoch, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Paisley Skye Hirsch, and two sisters Janet Garrett, and Ruth Brehmer. Pallbearers will be Jason Waugh, Pan Douangdara, Fernando Hernandez, Justin Nelson, Dave Beermann, and Craig Poulsen
