Patricia M. Matz

Patricia M. Matz, 98, of South Sioux City, NE passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her residence. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker Hunt Funeral Home. Patricia was born August 28, 1918 in Stetler, Alberta, Canada the daughter of Sheldon and Dollie (Beatty) Foley. She moved to South Sioux City with her mother at the age of 2, where she lived most of her life. Patricia married Edward G. Matz on December 17, 1938 in Dakota City. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1998. Patricia worked at Sioux City Battery for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, reading, and gardening. Patricia was a member of First Lutheran Church. Survivors include her two children: Patricia “Patty” Matz and Edward Matz of South Sioux City, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, daughter Dollie Rockwell, and two brothers: Harold Foley and Richard Berry.
