Verona M Byrne

Verona M. Byrne, 80 of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at a South Sioux City care center.    Verona was born July 19, 1937, in Hillsboro, ND the daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Agaard) Bohm. She graduated from high school and attended one years of college. She married Richard Byrne October of 1961.    She owned and operated her own  stylist salon and was an instructor in cosmetology. She managed Hawkeye Alano Society and served as vice present and on the board of directors. She managed Lakeside Lodge in Waubay, SD and enjoyed meeting and visiting with the people.    She was a former member of Morningside Lutheran Church.    She loved canvas painting, company, fishing, horseback riding and roller skating. She loved spending time with family.    Survivors include four sons: Kelly and his wife Kim of Sioux City, Shawn and his wife Lisa of Sioux City, Patrick and his wife Vicki of Dilller, NE, Matthew of Houston, TX, a daughter Darcie Byrne of Sioux City, a sister Charmaine Swenson of Milaca, MN 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and her furry friend and companion, Spirit.    She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law Myron Swenson.
