George A. Thompson

George Alan Thompson, 52, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at a Sioux City Hospital. Abiding by George’s wishes the body has been cremated and there will be no visitation or memorial service at this time. A private family service will be at a later date.    George was born January 16, 1965 in Madison, S.D. the son of Richard M. and Charmaine M. (Slater) Thompson. He graduated from high school and attended college for one year. He served in the U.S. Army.    He was a lifelong resident of South Sioux City and Sioux City. He had been employed at various restaurants until poor health forced his retirement.    George is survived by a son Timothy and his companion Heather of Sioux City, three brothers Richard (Veronica) Thompson of South Sioux City, Joseph Thompson, Ed (Wendy) Thompson all of Sioux City, a sister JoAnn (Joseph) Rodriguez of Sioux City, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.    The family gives a special thank you to his caregiver, Debbie.
