JoAnn Dahl

   JoAnn Dahl, 82 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at her residence with family by her side.    JoAnn’s wishes was cremation and a private family graveside service at a later date in Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska with Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in charge.    JoAnn was born September 14, 1935, in South Sioux City the daughter of Ted and Eva (Matz) Saunders. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1953. She married Vernon L. Dahl August 9, 1953 in South Sioux City.    Survivors include her husband Vernon, a daughter Sandy and her husband Brad Murphy of Belden, NE, three sons: Pat and his wife Nanette Linsley of Ponca, NE, Rick Dahl of Jackson, NE, Tom Dahl of South Sioux City, NE, fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.    She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Theodore and George Saunders, daughter-in-law Stephanie Dahl and one granddaughter.    One of JoAnn’s final comments to her family was that she had a wonderful eighty-two years, enjoyed her family and had a great love for all her pets.   JoAnn had a great support system through Hospice and her nurse Hope.The family suggests any memorials given in memory of JoAnn be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
