Charles L. “Charlie” Kruse, 80 of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at a Sioux City Care Center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, NE with Father Paul Albenesius officiating. Burial with military grave side service will be in St. John’s Catholic Church in Jackson, NE. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Church, with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Charlie was born February 16, 1937 in South Sioux City the son of Edward and Josephine (Gill) Kruse. He graduated from Heelan City High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June of 1955 until November 11, 1957. After his discharge he was employed as a machinist for Novelty Machine Manufacturing and Gray Mill Works. He married Dolly Thompson and later married Laura J. Lefler. Charlie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the D.A.V. Survivors include a son Michael and his wife Janet of Sioux City, two brothers and their wives: Leonard and Carol Kruse of South Sioux City, NE, Joe and Marlene Kruse of Burbank, SD, a sister Mary McGinty of South Sioux City, NE, five grandchildren and ninetten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Bill, Jack, Edward and two sisters: Anna Marie Elsey and Helene Torticil. Pallbearers will be Nathan Henry, Tony Getz, Mark and Matt McGinty, Rodney and Bobby Rodgers.
