Elaine D. Reeves

Funeral services for Elaine D. Reeves, 85 of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madison.  Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Madison.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madison.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel of Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.

            Elaine D. Reeves died Monday, November 05, 2018 at St. Joseph Rehabilitation and Care Center. 

            Elaine Dorothy Reeves was born October 15, 1933 on a farm North of Meadow Grove the daughter of Ruben and Clara (Wacker) Wagner.  She moved with her family at the age of three to a farm north of Madison and later graduated from Madison High School in 1951.  She was baptized at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Meadow Grove and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.

            She married Earl Reeves on March 27, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  The couple farmed west of Madison for one year and then moved north of Madison and farmed until retiring in 2011 and moving to Norfolk in 2012.  She also worked for 20 years at the Madison County Court House and served as the Deputy County Treasure for many of them.    She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. 

            Elaine is survived by three children and their spouses, Jim and Geri Reeves of Madison, Deb and Joe Ebeling of Norfolk, and Tim and Michele Reeves of Madison, one son in-law Jim Pfeifer of Clarkson, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, one brother Larry Wagner of Cedar Bluffs. 

            She was preceded in death by her husband Earl on October 1, 2018, by one daughter Peggy Pfeifer in 2013, one grandson Brian Pfeifer, and one sister JoAnne Staudenmaier.
