Eva Jean came into the world, along with her twin sister Edna, on February 24, 1939. Eva was born to Paul and Alice Pranschke in Salix, Iowa, where the family resided for a couple of years, and then moved to Westfield, Iowa. Eva grew up on a farm, where she shared her dad’s love of animals, and attended elementary school in Westfield and high school at Jefferson, South Dakota.
Eva met and married David Jorgensen and from that union came her first daughter, Crystal. Eva later met and married Rodger Heck on June 27, 1964 at which time they became a family of five including Marlene and Donna, daughters from Rodger’s first union. Together, Eva and Rodger had two daughters, Janet and Pamella. Over the next 24 years, the Heck family called Jefferson, South Dakota their home.
Throughout her life Eva held various jobs including J.C. Penney, Valley Bank, Country Inn and Suites, and Casey’s.
Eva loved crafting and crocheting, and spending time with family especially her grandkids and great grandkids. Eva considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising three strong daughters.
Eva is survived by her five daughters: Marlene (Tom) Peters, Donna (Dennis) Golden, Crystal Jorgensen, Janet (Bill) Dennison, and Pamella (Alan) Stokely; twelve grandkids: Shawn (Jody), Shelley, and Frank Peters (Jaime); Wendy (Daron) Jacobson, Missy Golden, and Denise Houts; Courtney Sterling (Miguel); Lacey (Andrew) Storm, and Lindsay (Jesse) Johnson; and Heather, Steven (Kellsie), and Paul (Jessica) Oberg, 20 great grandkids, and 4 great-great-grandkids.
