Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Jensen, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2018.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church with Pastor Jon Gerdts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com
She was born October 22, 1959, daughter of Robert L and Betty (Parker) Jensen. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Sioux City, IA. She was born with a congenital heart defect. She had her first open heart surgery at the University of Iowa Hospital when she was 12 year old. She came home showing off her “zipper” to friends and family. She attended Sioux City schools and received her GED. In 1976 she married Fred Berndt. Together they had one son, Jarrami Berndt. They divorced in 1983.
She was is a relationship with Bill Jefferds for many years. Bill, her son Jarrami, and step son Jason Jefferds went on numerous family vacations to Minnesota, Canada, & North Dakota. Her favorite place to go was Red River Catfish Haven. For the past 10 years, she was in a relationship with George Williams III. He took Becky on her first cruise ship to Alaska. Becky loved to travel. Becky and George were known to “jump in the sling shot” and take off for Arizona or Duluth, Minnesota. Becky loved to go to the movies, play cards and scrabble with friends and family. She was very talented at cross-stitching and sewing. She made many beautiful things for friends and family. She adored her grandchildren. She had a deep faith in God, praying and reading her bible often.
She is survived by her son Jarrami (Sally Menke) Berndt; grandsons: Cyrus (Courtney Nichols), Nicholas, Nolen, Jack, Jaden, Logan Williams; granddaughters, Narissa and Savanna; great grandchildren: Jaxon and Aden; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Reicks of Sioux City, brother, Bob (Nubin) Jensen of Tucson, AZ, brother, Raymond (Vanita) Jensen of Onawa, IA, sister, Beth (Jerry) Tague of Sioux City, and brother, Richard (Lori) Jensen of Aberdeen, SD.
She was preceded in death by her fiancé, George Williams III; her mother, Betty (Parker) Jensen; father, Robert Jensen; stepson, Jason Jefferds; grandmothers: Ruby Jensen and May (Parker) Kite; and grandfathers: Louis Jensen and Thomas Parker.
