Robert J. “Stoney” Stoneburg, 66, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday October 9, 2018 at a Sioux City care center.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with the Reverend Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Robert J. Stoneburg was born March 14, 1952 in Sioux City Iowa the son of Robert S. and Lena (Shuck) Stoneburg. Robert attended and graduated in the Central High School Class of 1971. Robert was employed at St. Joseph Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. Mr. Stoneburg was a lifetime resident of Sioux City.
In his free time Robert loved the outdoors enjoying fishing, hunting, gardening and was known for his generosity of sharing his take. He loved cooking for friends and family and sharing stories as everyone enjoyed the food prepared. Robert was a past member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Robert is survived by his sister: Roberta Rahn (Robert) Altoona, IA; brother: Paul Stoneburg (Mary K) of Sioux City; Niece: Jennifer (Scott) Bennetts of Jenison Mi; nephew: Michael Stoneburg of Medford, New York; great nieces: Gabriella and Samantha Bennetts; great nephew: Corbin Bennetts. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations may be directed to American Diabetes Association and Hospice of Siouxland.
