James Harrison

December 29, 1944 — October 9, 2018

   James A. Harrison, 73, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday October 9, 2018 at a Sioux City hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday October 15, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Reverend Merill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday October 14 from 4 till 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 till 8 p.m. and Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 
   James A. Harrison was born December 29, 1944 in Sioux City Iowa the son of Arthur L. and Aileen (Fries) Harrison. James was a lifetime resident of Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools. He married Sharon Ellis on December2, 1962 in Elk Point, South Dakota. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2018.
   James was employed as a sheet metal worker with various sheet metal shops in Sioux City, before working at Fabricators, Inc. for 28 years retiring in 2005.
   James enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, vegetable gardening, bowling, his dog Bella, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. James was a member of Loyal Order of Moose and the Masonic Lodge. Jim and Sharon were long time members of the Missouri River Boat Club, where Jim served as Fleet Captain.
   Survivors include his daughter: Terri (Jeff) Pratt of Onawa, IA; son: Michael (Tonya) Harrison of Sioux City; grandchildren: Megan (Mitch) Meyer, Taylor (fiancée, Jade) Pratt, Laci (Cody) Harder, Bailey Harrison, Madison Harrison, Tyler (Dakota) Riedmann and Rebecca Riedmann; Great-grandchildren: Violet Harder, Ivy Harder, with Meyer twins and Riedmann baby on the way; Brothers/sisters: Janet (Sam) Bennett, Joan Hainey, Jeff Harrison, Jon (Ron) Harrison, Joel (Pearl) Harrison and Julie (Buddy) Lane. 
   James was preceded in death by his wife; parents; infant daughter; one brother: Jerry; one sister: Judy Harrison
