   Noreen M. Gill, 80, of McCook Lake, SD passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Hopewell, VA.

   A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday September 14, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD with Father Joe Vogel, Celebrant.  Entombment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com

  Noreen Madeline, daughter of Joseph, Jr. and Margaret (Markowsky) Sales, was born November 21, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School with the Class of 1956.

   On August 9, 1957, Noreen was united in marriage to the love of her life Kenny Russell Gill in Sioux City, IA and this union was blessed with one son and three daughters.  They moved to McCook Lake in 1965.  Noreen worked at Northwestern Bell, Younkers-Davidson and retired from MCI in 2002.  Noreen and Kenny celebrated 46 years of marriage.  Kenny passed away on August 2, 2003

   On January 28, 2006, Noreen married Coral A. Scott in Sioux City.  Coral passed away on September 26, 2009

   Noreen was a very active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson and served as sacristan for many years.  She was also actively involved with the Izaak Walton League.  Noreen enjoyed traveling, crafts, sewing, reading, visiting with people and all kinds of nature especially the lake.  Above all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog Sadie.

   She is survived one son, Dennis (Kandy) Gill of Blue Springs, MO; three daughters: Lorie (Dan) Merrill of Salix, IA, Sally (Francis) Neville of Sioux City, IA and Kendra (Jeffrey) LaCroix of Springfield, MO; grandchildren: Tylan (Jill) Merrill, Joe (Amy) Merrill, Sara (Jason) Solomon, Garret (Kylie) Merrill, Tristan Libby, Sheldon Neville, LaRissa (Travis) King, Faythe (Mario) Moreno, Jordan Gill, Josuha Gill, Kialey (Luke) Peterson, Makenzie (Mark) Bazzano, Hailey LaCroix, Carter LaCroix, Carlee LaCroix, Natalie LaCroix, Brennen LaCroix, Kennedy LaCroix and Payton LaCroix, great grandchildren: Haley Merrill, Joey Merrill, Treigon Solomon, River Solomon, Autumn Solomon, Leighton Merrill, Gabriel Merrill, Brynnley King, Ashton Libby, Madison Libby, Wyatt Libby, Makenna Moreno, Deanna Moreno, Zander Peterson, Lakyn Peterson and Ryker Peterson; one brother, Alan (Peggy) Sales of Sioux City, IA; step father, Dan Gosnell of Hopewell, VA; other relatives and many friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kenny Gill and Coral Scott; son-in-law, Danny Libby, Jr.; two brothers: Weston Sales and Gary Sales; and several in-laws.

   Memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson or the Sioux City Humane Society.

   Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
