Lila Rose Thompson, 87, of Merrill, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018. Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Lila was born the daughter of Cyril and Juliette (Allard) Montange on September 25, 1930 in Jefferson, South Dakota. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1950. Lila married Rolland Lowell Thompson on November 17, 1956 in Sioux City.
She worked for Western States Hardware and then Williams TV and Appliance for many years.
She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, going to fairs and zoos, gambling with her sisters in Vegas twice a year, and helping with home improvement projects.
Lila is survived by her children, Rodney (Sylvia) Thompson of Fairfield, Connecticut, Kirt (Becky) Thompson of Sergeant Bluff, and Jaylin Thompson of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose Morgan, Kira Lynn Thompson, and Shasta Jordan; and four great-grandchildren, Shaylee Rose Morgan, Chloe Juliet Morgan, Alyssa Mae Morgan, and Adrianna Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolland; two sisters, Dwilda Kovarna and Eileen Kovarna; and one granddaughter Teri Thompson.
