Sally J. Johnson, 74, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private family burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is assisting the family. Sally was born on July 25, 1944 in Sioux City to Neil “Bud” and Marie (Lentz) Breaman. She attended catholic schools while growing up. When Sally was younger she worked at the Convent at St. Joseph Parish, helping the nuns with daily activities and housekeeping. Sally was united in marriage to Roy Johnson on July 28, 1962 in Sioux City, IA. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2004. Together they enjoyed gambling in North Sioux City, the Riverboat and traveling to various casinos in Deadwood. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sally loved working in her yard and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to honor her memory include her son: Tom Johnson and his sons: Justin Johnson of Lincoln, NE and his children Lilly and Emmett Johnson, and Brandon Johnson of Sioux City; son, Mike and Brenda Johnson, of Sioux City, their son Joshua Johnson of Illinois; step-grandchildren: Angie Merrill of Goldfield, IA and her children: Beau and Tunney Merrill of Sioux City, Chad and Ashley Peterson and their children: David and Danyka of Sioux City, and Tanner Peterson of Sioux City; brothers: John (Leona) Breaman, Ida Grove, IA, Joe (Romayne) Breaman, Irma, WI, Jim (Connie) Breaman, South Sioux City, NE, Jeff Breaman, Sioux City, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jerry Breaman; Sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Arthur “Dan” Detches.
