Dorothy C. Huebsch

Dorothy C. Huebsch, 83, of Morgantown, West Virginia, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Church, located at 995 N. Sioux Point Rd. in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Father Joe Vogel will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Dorothy was born on May 29th, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Justina (Goergen) Schuetz. Dorothy married William D. “Bill” Huebsch on June 28, 1967 in Sioux City. Together, the two began their own business selling greeting cards, Huebsch Wholesale Inc. They ran the company together for approximately 30 years until they sold it in 1999. The couple then retired to McCook Lake.

Dorothy was a devoted member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Church in Dakota Dunes.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Wade Huebsch and wife Martja of Morgantown, WV; and three grandchildren: Garett, Nolan and Lauren. She is also survived by her siblings Larry Schuetz, Sr. Bernice Schuetz, Ron Schuetz, Gert Sargent, JoAnn Weston, Mike Schuetz and Jim Schuetz.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and siblings Joe Schuetz, Kathleen Port, Ray Schuetz and Mary Kollschegg.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve at McCook Lake, SD. Bill and Dorothy spent countless hours at the nature preserve with their dogs when they resided in McCook Lake.
