Virginia was born the daughter of Harold and Helen (Benda) Schoonover on June 19, 1939 in Platt, South Dakota. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. Virginia married Richard Walker and they raised four children. They later divorced, and she married Ron Hargrove. Virginia lived in Texas, Colorado, and Sioux City over the years.
Virginia enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with people. She liked hunting for treasures at rummages and thrift stores. She was a wonderful artist, who always had a twinkle in her eye and a mischievous smile. It’s hard to find the right words to describe what a unique, special gift Virginia was to all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by three sons, Jon (Kathy) Walker of Sioux City, Joe (Debbie) Walker of Golden, Colorado, and Dave (Lilly) Walker of Thornton, Colorado; one daughter, Wendi (Vern) Baca of Aurora, Colorado; one twin brother, Charles (Doreen) Schoonover of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. One niece, Ronnie Ryan; four nephews Rob, Rick, Chad and Eric Schoonover. She also leaves behind two special friends, Lu Lu and Vivian.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.
