Frank S. Marino Sr., 85, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at home surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.
Per Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the director of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Frank was born July 26, 1932 in Sioux City, the son of Andrea and Lilly Marino. He attended Heelan High School. Frank served in the United States Army – Infantry Unit during the Korean War from 1951-1954. He married Margaret O’Hara on September 11, 1954 in Sioux City. To this union, four children were born.
Frank loved his career as a Union Carpenter. He and Margaret lived in Sioux City until 1979 when they moved to Fort Worth, TX. The couple returned to Sioux City in 1995. Frank was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Family was very important in his life and he especially loved doing things with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Marino of Sioux City; four children: Dana (Michael) Thompson of Easly, SC, Dr. Frank (Nancy) Marino Jr. of Sioux City, Mark (Deb) Marino of Sioux City, and Matthew (Melissa) Marino of Keller, TX; 14 Grandchildren: Barbara Thompson, Katie, Melissa, Ali, Nick, Tom, Drew, Anna, Storm, Jade, Cody, Lindsay, and Brianna Marino; and 6 great grandchildren: Farrah, Christopher, Ellie, Bella, Avery, and Skylar.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Andrea and Lilly Marino; one brother Joe Marino; three sisters: Antionette Blair, Angeline Dennis, and Francis Passman; mother in law Pete Titus; and a grandson Christopher Thompson.
