Luis A. Aguilar

Luis A. Aguilar, 38 of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 7:30 P.M. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 – 7:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Luis was born February 10, 1980 in Mexico City, Mexico; he was the son of Patricia (Solano) and Antonio Aguilar. The family moved to Houston, TX when Luis was 3 months old. He began elementary school in Houston and then the family moved to Sioux City in 1990. Luis attended Woodrow Wilson and graduated from North High School in 1998. He also attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE where he was an active member of the Multicultural Club. 

Luis worked for KMEG-TV and enjoyed playing board games and magic. He enjoyed collectables and collected movies. He liked wrestling and football, a big Dallas Cowboys fan!  Luis enjoyed listening to music, photography and spending time with family especially his niece and nephew. 

Survivors include his parents Patricia Solano and Antonio Aguilar of Sioux City; his sister Patricia Rodriguez of Sioux City; his brother in law: Joe Rodriguez of Sioux City; his niece Tegan Rodriguez and nephew Ethan Rodriguez both of Sioux City; many aunts and uncles including Pablo and Selina Solano of Sioux City and their children Pablo Solano, Jr. and Celina Solano.

Luis was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alfonso and Teresa Solano.
