Shirley Mae Hogan

Shirley M. Hogan, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, 4500 Sioux River Road. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Shirley was born the daughter of Walter and Barbara (Golhoffer) Schweitzberger on February 6, 1944 in Kingsley, Iowa. Shirley married Robert W. Hogan in 1967 in Sioux City, Iowa. Robert passed away in October of 1968. She lived in Spokane, Washington from 1979 until making her home in Sioux City in 1986.
Shirley was a single mother, staying home to raise her children. In her later years she worked at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.
She cherished her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to WinnaVegas.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Tammy Hogan of Sioux City and Tena Corker of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Mary Ann Powell of Blanchard, Idaho; three grandchildren, Alexandria Paquin, and Joshua and Cassandra Corker; and one great granddaughter, Ember Paquin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John; and one great grandson, Emery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Shirley’s name to the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center or Patchwork for Emery.
