Robert W. "Bob" Arnold, 85, of Sioux City, died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at a local care facility.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sunnybrook Community Church. Visitation will be 10: 00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Robert William "Bob" Arnold, the son of James and Alma (Boom) Arnold, was born on January 10, 1933, in Beresford, South Dakota. After graduating from Meckling High School (Meckling, SD), he married Patricia Wetmore in 1954 in Vermillion, South Dakota. After they moved to Sioux City, he began his 35-year career at First National Bank (U.S. Bank). During this time, Bob earned his bachelor's degree from Morningside College in Sioux City as well as completing executive-level classes at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the BMA School of Bank Marketing at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
A member of Sunnybrook Community Church, Sioux City, Bob was active in his retirement years with their greeting card ministry, greatly enjoying the time spent designing and sending cards to church members during times of illness, grief, or celebration.
Family was one of the greatest joys in his life. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Joan Arnold, Elizabeth (Dave) Widman, Kathryn (Dave) Jones, Mary (Frank) Ludwig; son David (Lori) Arnold; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Everett Burton; and his brother, Harry Dale Arnold.
Bob was an amiable man who loved helping people and will be remembered by the many friends and family his life impacted.
