Sharon Servis

September 23, 1943 — June 5, 2018

Sharon Ione (Rozell) Servis, 74 of Sioux City went to meet her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 3101 Hamilton Blvd, Sioux City. Rev. Ralph Shorey will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Sharon was born September 23, 1943 in Akron, IA; she was the daughter of Arden and Gladys (Heyl) Rozell. Sharon graduated from Akron High School in 1961. 

On April 25, 1965, Sharon married Roger Servis and from this union two children were born. 

Sharon worked at Northwestern Bell in Sioux City after graduating from high school and retired in 1994. 

She was very active in slow-pitch softball. She and Roger sponsored Serco Women’s & Men’s Softball teams and were founding member of the Floyd Slow-pitch Softball Association and the Floyd Softball Complex; which Sharon served on the Board of Directors for several years. 

Sharon served as State Commissioner for the United States Slow-pitch Softball Association. She was also active in several bowling and dart leagues. 

Sharon’s deep love of family and pets will leave an unending legacy. 

Survivors include her children:  Garth Richard Servis (Enean Mattes) and Tracy Amanda Servis all of Sioux City; granddaughter and great granddaughter: Makenzie Sun Servis and Isabella Grace “Little S” Ross from Omaha, NE; grandson Garth Franco Servis, Jr of Sioux Center; grandson Maxwell Ian Servis of Sioux City and granddaughter Elsie Rozella Servis of Sioux City. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard Rozell and a sister Kathleen Erks. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Kurt Rosenkrans, Dr. Joseph Morris, all Unity Point staff, all Accura staff and Rev. Ralph Shorey, III for all of the dedicated care they provided.
