Sharon J. Riediger, 75, of Merrill, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving husband and children after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Service will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Reverend Kristine Stedje will officiate. Online condolences may be directed to

Sharon was born on February 16, 1943 in Holstein, Iowa, the daughter of Emmerd and Lavinna (Ludvigson) Wiese. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein, and graduated from Holstein High School. She worked as a lab technician for Dr. Larimer and Dr. Hyden for eight years.
She married Gary Crawford in 1964; he passed away in 1966. Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald Riediger on March 9, 1968, and was welcomed by his two beautiful daughters, Lori and Lisa. To this union two children were born, Renae and Brendan. After a 30 year career, Sharon retired from AAA Travel Agency in 2013.
Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Lavinna (98 years of age); her husband Ronald Riediger of 50 years; daughters, Lori (Stuart) Christians of Milford, IA; Lisa Hurwitz-Riediger of California; Renae (Matt) Clarkson of Smithville, MO; son, Brendan Riediger of Sheffield, IA; 12 grandchildren: Mike Klemmensen, Kerri (Mark) Johnson, Rustin Wilson, Matthew (Meghan) Spies, Kayla Clarkson, Taryn, Tyler, Taya, Takota, Treyton, Trace, and Treven Riediger; 2 great-grandchildren: Kampbell Klemmensen and Henry Johnson; brothers, Curtis (Rhonda) Wiese and David (LeeNette) Wiese, both of Cushing, IA; many nieces and nephews; 4 step-grandchildren: Aaron Christians, Adam (Jen) Christians, Tyler (Shiri) Christians, and Tanner (Bekah) Christians; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her first husband; her father; and her grandparents.
