Janice M. Yates

   Janice M. Yates, 55, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at a local hospital.

   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Church of the Nativity (4242 Natalia Way) in Sioux City with Father Dan Rupp, Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.). 

   Janice Mary, daughter of Edward L. and Anna May (McCoy) Yates, was born April 12, 1963, in Sioux City.  She graduated from Riverside School in 1984.

   Janice lived in Sioux City her entire life and worked at New Perspectives.

   Janice was a very special sister and aunt.  She enjoyed bowling, swimming, fishing and doing crafts.  She was always ready to go out for lunch or dinner and loved to go shopping. 

   She is survived by five sisters: Dianne Miller (Ray Bennett) of Sioux City, Susan Brady (Bob) of Dakota Dunes, SD, Merry Vondrak (Ben) of Sioux City, Lee  Ann Chicoine (Jon) of Austin, TX and Beth Conley (Tim) of Le Mars, IA; many nephews; nieces; great nephews and great nieces.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward in 1994 and Anna May in 2014; her grandparents and aunts and uncles.
