James Stuart Moser

James Stuart Moser, 87, of Sioux City passed away Saturday May 26, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday May 30, 2018 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday May 29, 2018 from 4 till 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 till 8 P.M. with prayer service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. With the Rev. Kenny Hsu of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating James Stuart Moser was born October 12, 1930 in Larchwood Iowa the son of Paul and Lorene (Johnston) Moser. James graduated from Morningside College and received his Master’s Degree from Iowa State University. Mr. Moser was employed as a Nuclear Engineer with Westinghouse before his retirement in 1992. He married Betty Moran on June 5th 1949 in Sioux City Iowa. In his free time James enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, hunting, playing cards and board games. Mr. Moser is survived by his wife, the couple would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 5th this year; one son: Chris and his wife Sophia Moser of Pittsburgh, PA.; one daughter: Cheryl Wheatcraft of Sioux City; daughter in law: Frances and her husband Tom Lubash of Highland Park, CO; Five grandchildren; Matthew Moser, Jami and her husband Chad Langholdt, Bill Wheatcraft, Neil Moser, Emily Moser and her fiancé Arthur “Ace” Werner; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Daniel, two brothers; Michael and his wife Karen, infant brother Eugene; one sister; Susan and her husband Jerry Harris; and one granddaughter Mary.
