Jeret John Pospeshil, 39 of Rapid City, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux City, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at his home in Rapid City, after a brave battle with mental illness. A memorial mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will follow on Tuesday afternoon at Grimton Cemetery in rural Orchard, Neb. Jeret was born on July 6, 1978, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Jerry and Judie Pospeshil. Jeret has lived in Rapid City for almost 15 years. He graduated from Bishop Heelan High School (class of ’97) in Sioux City, and from Dana College in Blair, NE, with a Business Degree. Jeret played four years of college football as a tight end, and was Captain of his team his Senior Year. After graduating, he was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, as a Sales Representative for 9 years. He was currently employed by Boom Construction and Development as a Business Manager. In his spare time, Jeret enjoyed hunting, fishing (especially with his boys) and spending time with his many friends, family and three children. He was also an avid Husker Football fan.

Jeret was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Judie Pospeshil; grandparents, Harold and Lil Pospeshil and Bill Tuttle.

Jeret is survived by his three children: Ty, Jace and Grace; his father, Jerry Pospeshil (Kathy Quinn), of Sioux City, Iowa; his grandmother Myrna Tuttle of Sioux City, Iowa; brother Jade (Shelly) Pospeshil of Johnston, Iowa; sister Jewell (Todd) Young of Urbandale, Iowa; nephews Mason Pospeshil and Jaden Young; nieces Maddi Pospeshil and Lillian Young; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jeret’s children were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Jeret’s kind spirit, passion for sports, love of others, and zest for life will live on through them.
