Bonnie Hickman

Bonnie J. Hickman, 88 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. 

There will be a Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. David Hemann will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with the family present from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  There will be a rosary recited at 5:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 6:00 P.M.  Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. 

Bonnie was one of eight children and was born October 4, 1929 in North Platte, NE; she was the daughter of William and Genevieve (Jeffers) Easton.  Bonnie grew up in North Platte and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1947. 

On July 31, 1948, Bonnie married Arthur W. Hickman in North Platte, he passed away on January 1, 2000 in Sioux City. 

She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Bonnie enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing bridge. She had served as President of the Siouxland Right to Life and as Vice President of Interfaith Prolife Prayer Memorial. Bonnie was a member of the Lioness Club and Shephard’s of Christ Prayer Group and she did volunteer work at Trinity Heights.

Survivors include her children: Sue Grieve (Warren) of Sioux City, Arthur Hickman ,Jr. (Corina) of McKinney, TX, Chris Hickman (Barb) of Minneapolis, MN, Steve Hickman (Betty) Faribault, MN, Phil Hickman (Kim) of Sioux City, Brian Hickman (Karen) of Sioux City, Joe Hickman (Deb) of Sioux Falls, SD, Mark Hickman (Kimberly) of Sioux City, Greg Hickman (Dorothy) of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister Mary Hunt of North Platte, NE; 26 grandchildren: Karen Bauer (Matt), Jeff Grieve (Soren), Mike Grieve (Kim), Heather Hickman, Art Hickman III (James Hoglund) Ben Hickman, Ali Hickman, Jennifer Hickman, Melissa Gent (Steve), Mary Curnyn (Tom), Abigail Schonover (Nathan), Ericka Hickman, Keith Hickman (Nicole), Katie Johnson (Andy), Emily Fetterman (Tod), Nick Hickman, Sarah Webber (Joel), Rachel Hickman, Zachary Hickman, Kelvin Hickman, Dane Hickman, Kylee Hickman, Michael Hickman (Jessica), Andrew Hickman, Alex Hickman(Shelby) and Connor Hickman; 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. 

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art, a daughter Mary Diane Hickman, 4 brothers Dick, Bill, Bob and David, 2 sisters Virginia and Geraldine, and a granddaughter Elizabeth Hickman.
