Carol A. Buffalo Chief, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Paul’s Indian Mission. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 20, 2018 and continue to the service time at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Carol was born the daughter of Herman and Sara (Tyndall) Harlan, Sr. on October 15, 1943 in Winnebago, Nebraska. After high school she moved to Sioux City where she made her home. She also lived in Sacramento, California in the early 1990s.
Carol was an avid reader of James Patterson and enjoyed SCIFI movies. In her later years she enjoyed sowing and making stocking caps.
Carol is survived by her children, Richard (Kim) Buffalo Chief, Sr., Parris (Hiroko) Buffalo Chief, Chanin (Armando) Olivas, Ralph (Erica) Buffalo Chief, Eva (Corry) Berens, Lauren Harlan, Thurman (Tammy) Morris, Elisa (Wesley) Starr, Ashley Harlan, Richard (Blo) Buffalo Chief, Jr., and Dylan (Mary) Rouillard; two sisters, Lucille Morris and Rita Brown; one brother, Bill Harlan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and mother and grandma to many other children over her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and one granddaughter, Heather Rouillard.
