Donald G. "Don" Denker

Donald G. “Don” Denker, 65, of Sergeant Bluff, IA passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at a local care center.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Don was born June 25, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Leonard William and Twila Dorraine (Shearer) Denker. When Don was young the family moved to Emerson, Nebraska and he graduated from Emerson High School. After graduation, Don enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married Shelly Sue Bishop on July 31, 1987 in Dakota City, NE. Don’s lifelong career and passion was carpentry, and he worked for various Construction Companies. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and loved to be around people and see them happy. He was a friend of Bill W.

Survivors include his wife Shelly Denker of Sergeant Bluff, IA; children Brent Denker of McCook Lake, SD and Sarah Denker of Sergeant Bluff; parents in law Joyce and Wendell Bishop of Sioux City; brothers: Richard W. Denker and Roger L. Denker, sisters: Judy Voss, Kay Denker, Linda Rychly, Jackie Steele, and Barbara VonSeggern; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Leon Denker, Lois Meyer, Twila Skidmore, Janet Anoweck, Ronnie Denker, and Beverly Bressler, and a brother in law Tim Bishop.
