Eldon L. Knudson, 93, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at a local care facility. The family has chosen for Eldon to be cremated and there are no services scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Eldon was born September 2, 1924 in Bloomfield, Nebraska. He was the son of Elmer and Ruby (Tilton) Knudson. He graduated from Newcastle High School, Nebraska. He moved to Sioux City following graduation.
Eldon married Alethia C. Nelson on March 30, 1948, in Sioux City. They were married for 67 years. Alethia entered into rest May 30, 2015.
Eldon was a self-employed home builder in Siouxland for many years.
He was a wonderful and caring person who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends, dance clubs, and the company of many friends and family.
Survivors include four children, Dr. Randy Knudson of Highland Park, Ill., Melonie Myers of LaVista, Ne., Kevin Knudson of Sioux City, and Kim Maeschen of North Sioux City, S.D.; 12 grandchildren, Maggie, Joe, Tom, Emily, Jenny, Jessy, Mark, Katie, Kelsey, Tom, Cameron and Claire; and five great-grandchildren.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers. Domar, Daryl, Russell, Marvin, and one sister Velda.
