Beverly Summerlin

   Beverly Summerlin, 91, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at her residence.

   Abiding by her wishes, cremation will take place and no services are planned.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

   Beverly, the daughter of Wilburn and Ruth (Litster) Seaton, was born November 4, 1926 in Monona County, IA.  She grew up and attended school in the Mapleton, Castana and Turin area.

   Beverly met James “Vance” Summerlin in Sioux City while he was stationed there.  This union was blessed with eight children.  The family made their home in Sioux City and Beverly worked at Katz Drug and then Bostwicks.  For many years, she worked for the Sioux City Public Schools starting out as a bus driver and later as a bus aid until retiring in 2008.

   Beverly enjoyed flower gardening, traveling to see family and collecting rocks.  She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and attended several football games.

   Beverly is survived by four sons: David Summerlin, Russell (Jan) Summerlin, Douglas Summerlin and Lance Summerlin; four daughters: Rosemary (Ron Mizia) Davis, Myra (Larry Lukken) Woggon, Deborah (Martin) Ozga and Teresa King; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Dawayne “Butch” (Nancy) Seaton; one sister, Sharon Johnson; and a special friend of 52 years, Michelle Bloyer.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, James “Vance” Summerlin on December 12, 1998; three brothers: Conrad, Curtis and Keith Seaton; and two sisters: Darlene Wilde and Donna Seaton.
