Richard “Rick” L. Suhr, 48 of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Cathedral of the Epiphany, St. Joseph Worship Site, at 8th and Iowa Streets, with Father Brent Lingle as Celebrant. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13th at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family. www.meyerbroschapels.com Rick was born on March 27, 1969 in Cherokee, Iowa to Eldon V. and Leora (Bartz) Suhr. He graduated from West High School with the Class of 1987. Rick married Julie Streck on June 17, 1995 and the two later divorced. He has been employed by W.A. Klinger, L.L.C. since April 8, 1994. Rick was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 948.
Rick was a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan, Harley Davidson rider, and was an enthusiast about golf, pool, his love of animals, and was a perfectionist about his BBQ. Rick loved his family and his biggest pride was being a Dad and Papa.
Rick is survived by his daughter Sarah and her husband Ryan Swearingen and their children (Rick’s grandchildren) Cambree and Jaylee; sons Austin Suhr, Brenden Suhr, and Devon Bell; significant other Edna Davis, parents Lee and Vic Renken and Eldon and Rhonda Suhr; brothers Dan, David and Josh; and sisters Tammy, Bobbi, and Nikki.
Casket Bearers for the service will be Ignacio “Nacho” Asencio, William Hrynciw, Paul Henningfield, Tom Hansen, Pat Pinney, Ricky Williams, Brian Sands, and Steve Bales.
