Kenneth Holyoke Browne

March 15, 1923 — February 16, 2018

Kenneth H. Browne, 94, of Sioux City passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery. 

Kenneth was born on March 15, 1923 in Brewer, Maine the son of Bill and Evelyn Holyoke Brown. He spent three years in the Army Air Force during World War II, overseas duty being with the 8th Air Force in England, 15th Air Force in Italy, and service in the British West Indies.

Kenneth graduated from Brewer (Maine) High School in 1941 and from Husson University in Bangor, Maine in 1948. Following graduation, Kenny was employed with Eastern Trust and Banking Company in Bangor for two years.

In 1946, he married Joyce Lane of Yankton, South Dakota in Ocean Park, California. Kenny spent the next nine years in Sioux City, IA where he was employed with Woodbury County Savings Bank. Then the couple moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1959 where they lived for 44 years. He was with First National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix and then retired from Wells Fargo Bank in Phoenix as a mortgage lending officer, spending 34 years in banking.

Kenny was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mesa for 41 years. The couple recently moved back to Sioux City in 2000.

His beloved wife of 71 years was his sweetheart and how he will be missed! Kenny took his marriage vows very seriously, always treating Joyce with the highest respect, leading to a glorious marriage of 71 years. He was always a kind and polite telling amazing adventurous stories of their life, leaving you wanting to hear more. We love you Kenny!

Survivors include his beloved wife Joyce Browne of Sioux City, his sister Margaret (Clarence) Tallman of McKean, PA, brother Stan Brown of El Paso, TX, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Evelyn Brown and sister in law Angela Brown.
