Ronald A. Tague, 72, of LeMars, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. all at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ronald was born the son of Richard and Bertha (Richards) Tague on August 27, 1945 in Akron, Iowa. He attended Hinton High School and entered the United States Army at age 17. Ronald married Cheryl Loftis on April 15, 1967 in Hinton. They made their home in Hinton until 2002 when they moved to Murphy, North Carolina. They have been in LeMars since 2012.
Following his military service, Ronald started his career at Sioux Tools and retired from Snap-On in 2012. He was very involved in the Hinton community.
He served as Mayor, was a lifetime member of the American Legion, served on the police departments of both Hinton and Merrill and also Hinton Fire and Rescue.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Cheryl Tague of LeMars; children, Michelle (Ron) Bruscher of LeMars, Shannon Tague of Sioux Falls, and Rhonda (Scott) Bainbridge of Merrill; sisters, Bethene Caskey and Darla Miller; grandchildren, Shelby (Cole) Bockelmann, Michael (Kelli) Bruscher, Holten Bainbridge, Ralayna Bainbridge, and Alyssa Tague; and sisters-in-law, Annette Tague, Debbie Tague, and LaVonne (Loftis) McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Terry Tague and Michael Tague, and one brother in infancy.
