Hettie Lee was born on June 27, 1931 to Edwin Ray Unangst and Geneva Mae (Taylor) Unangst in Bartlett, Ne.  She graduated from Wheeler County High School, Bartlett, NE in 1948.  She worked briefly as a telephone operator before marrying Harold W. Crum in 1949.  They lived in Denver with their 5 children before moving to Sioux City in 1967.  She was a wife, mother, homemaker, seamstress, and 2nd mom to the many friends her 5 children had throughout their growing years.  Harold passed away in November of 1979 and Hettie’s life was set on a new course as a live-in nanny in several cities throughout the US.  She returned to Sioux City in 1988 to be close to family and continue her love of caregiving to many elderly people in Sioux City.

Hettie married Gustave Bohlmann in April, 1993.  They enjoyed many years together living in Sioux City and traveling in their motorhome to Arizona, Texas and Florida for the winters.  Gus passed away on January, 12, 2018.  Her faith in God and constant prayer for her children and grandchildren had a profound impact on their lives and they will forever be grateful for her Godly influence.  She is now in the presence of her loving Savior whom she served without wavering for 65 years.

Hettie is survived by her children Lee (Kathie) Crum of Olathe, KS; Diane (Terry) Foister of Sioux City; Janet (Greg) Wall of Sioux City; Judy (Gerry) Teeven of Ft. Meyers, Florida; and Debra (Lee) Baybay of Fayetteville, NC, as well as her many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Hettie is also survived by Gus’ children, Kathie (Burt, Jr) Chase of Sioux City; Willie (Annette) Bohlmann of Hayden Al; Connie (Keith) Kroksh of  Ashland, NE; Mark (Judy) Bohlmann of Ankeny, IA; and Keith Bohlmann of Sioux City.  She is survived by siblings Maxine Wingert, Betty Gottfried, Georgia Sternberg, William Unangst & Robert (Linda) Unangst all of Casper, Wyo, and Lola (Floyd) Freeman of Cheyenne, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Harold, 2nd husband Gustave and sisters, Mildred Scheel & Marian Krause.
