Fred G. White, 89, of Sioux City, passed away, Sunday, February 11, 2018. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.
Fred was born the son of Kenny White and Flossie Mead on June 1, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Leeds High School. Fred married Jacqueline “Jackie” Poindexter on April 2, 1949 in Laverne, Minnesota.
Fred worked in the packing house and retired from roofing. He was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by four sons, Dennis (Colleen) White, Steve White, John White, and Bob White all of Sioux City; one daughter, Debbie (Rick) Kobold of Jefferson, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jackie.
