Robert “Bob” C. Worden, 68 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kenny Hsu officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the United States Army and weapons salute by Monahan-Nelson Post 64 American Legion of Sioux City. Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, February 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered to the family at
www.meyerbroschapels.com Bob was born on September 5, 1949 in Sioux City to Richard F. and Viola (Fitty) Worden. He graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1967. Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from July of 1969 until July of 1971. He received numerous decorations including the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Overseas Bars, Air Medal (2nd Award), and Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster) to name just a few. Bob continued in the Army Reserves until 1975. He married Lana Henshaw on December 6, 1974 in Sioux City. Bob was an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement in 1995. He was a life-long resident of Sioux City, and was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Bob is survived by his father Richard F. Worden of Sioux City; sister Mary Swords, sons Troy Worden, Michael L. (Jamie) Worden, Jeremy Winters, and Brad Winters; 6 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his dog Junior; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, brother Richard Worden, son Robert Worden Jr., and wife Lana on January 18, 2016.
