Leslie A. Franco, 67, of Sioux City, Iowa died January 29, 2018, at her residence following a three month battle with cancer. The family will greet friends at 2 p.m. on Friday with a short informal Celebration of Life Service starting at 2:15 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City. Leslie, the daughter of Gilbert and Barbara (Porter) Jones, was born February 9, 1950 in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School then attended the University of Iowa and graduated from Briar Cliff College with bachelor’s degree in nursing. She lived most of her life in Sioux City and worked for 30+ years at Siouxland District Health Department until retiring in June of 2017. On November 28, 1986, Leslie was united in marriage to Dennis Franco in Sioux City. Leslie was a free spirit that enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her interests include golfing, gardening and enjoying life. Leslie is survived by her husband Dennis Franco of Sioux City; her daughter Hilary Sanders of Sioux City; her son Eric Sanders and wife Natalie and their children Isabel, Emiliana, Curren and Ava of Springdale, AR; one brother, Dr. Michael Jones and wife Susie of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Barbara Jones.
