Richard Edward Harrington, 95 of Sioux City, Iowa went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 14, 2018, after battling pneumonia. A private family memorial service will be held at a future date. Online condolences may be given at

Richard was born on July 26, 1922, to Grover and Gladys (formerly Byers) Harrington in Sioux City, Iowa. He was baptized at First Baptist Church, Sioux City.
After graduating from Central High School, Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force. As an officer and bombardier during WW2, he later served in the Reserves.
As a young adult, Richard worked as a grain broker for Hallet and Carey Grain Corporation. Years later, he earned his real estate license, and sold homes for Pottorf Reality before opening his own firm, Richard’s Realty. In his later years, Richard sold men’s clothing at Grayson's, Sadoff’s, and Moreys & Raymond's.
Richard married the love of his life, Delores Williams, on May 4, 1945, in Big Spring, TX. During their 68 years of marriage, the couple was blessed with 3 children; Pamela, (Richard) Michael and Deborah.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, his son R. Michael Harrington, 4 sisters (Jean, Janice, Rosemary, and Patricia) and 1 brother (Gerald). He is survived by 2 brothers, Donald and Thomas, both of Sioux City; 2 daughters, Pamela Mahn and her husband Ted of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Deborah Gifford of Sioux City, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Todd Harrington and his wife Kristy of Phoenix, AZ; and Kathryn (Gifford) Chartier and her husband Sean of Sioux City, Iowa, along with great-grandchildren, Noah and Elizabeth (Libby) Chartier.
