Richard L. “Dick” Davis, 76 of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at a local care facility after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Sioux City Baptist Church. Rev. Quentin Vaughn will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to

Dick was born August 21, 1941 in Chicago, IL; he was the son of Donald and Ada Belle (Carpenter) Davis. Dick graduated from Central High School and then attended Morningside College. He served in the U.S. Air Force before beginning a career with the City of Sioux City. Dick worked in the Parks and Recreation Department for several years and became manager of the three Sioux City Cemeteries.
Dick was a member of the Model Railroad Club and enjoyed reading and fishing.
Survivors include his 5 children: Scott Thompson (Melinda) of Pryor, OK, Georgia Crouch of Sioux City, Dianne Sattizahn (Samuel) of Sioux City, Donnie Davis (Ashley) of Sioux City, and Richie Davis of Sioux City; a brother Robert Davis of Sioux City, 27 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
