Monette Lou (Grant) Kleinberg, 77, of Sioux City, IA passed away on January 13, 2018 with her loving family at her side.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at First Lutheran Church (3601 Dakota Ave.) in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Douglas Dill officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City. Monette, the daughter of Rome and Alfreda (Londrosh) Grant, was born December 11, 1940 in Omaha, NE. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1958. Monette attended USD to attain her Degree in Counseling.
On November 15, 1958, Monette married her grade school sweetheart Garrieth K Kleinberg and together they raised seven children: Jayme, Joy, Cindy, Chris, Tami, Cash and Gabe. Monette took pride in her Christian Family Counseling business, Carpenters Touch, that she founded in the early 90’s.
Monette was very proud of her entire family and loved to spend time with all of them. She truly loved being the matriarch of such a close family. She loved having lunch dates with her friends, loved animals and enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
Monette is survived by seven children: Jayme (DeeDee) Kleinberg, Joy (Nels) Pallesen, Cindy (Mark) Johnston, Chris (Denise) Kleinberg, Tami (Gary) Thibodeau, Cash Kleinberg and Gabe (Brea) Kleinberg, 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Michele (Mike) Rager; one brother, Corby Grant and close cousin Karen Juhl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garrieth and great grandson Cameron.
