Marion Alice (Sewell) Dressler

August 28, 1936 — January 9, 2018

Marion A. (Sewell) Dressler, 81, of Hubbard passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at a local hospital.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at The West 6th Street Church of Christ, 2111 W. 6th St. Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the services and following the graveside service there will be a luncheon served at the church. Marion was born August 28, 1936 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Harry Sewell Sr. and Sarah (Ellis) Sewell. She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls in 1954. After graduation, Marion worked for the Northwestern Bell switchboard. At the time of her retirement she was working in the business office for Northwestern Bell until its closing in 1988. Marion then worked for Memorial Park Cemetery from 1988-1990. Marion met her future husband on a blind date. She married Dean Dressler on July 6, 1957 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2017 in Emerson, NE.

Marion enjoyed playing cards once and week with old coworkers, and playing cards with family and friends whenever possible. In later years, Marion enjoyed her trips to Branson, MO and large holiday meals with her family.

Marion is survived by her children: Denna (Neil) Schneider of Allen, NE, David Dressler of Wayland, MI, and Dennis Dressler of Hubbard, NE; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers: Harry Jr. (Carolyn) Sewell of Sioux Falls, SD, Richard Sewell of Crooks, SD, and Sally (Sewell) Schavee of Tea, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Dressler, daughter Dawn (Dressler) Finney; son in law Jack Finney, and great granddaughter Kimberly Dawn Hoesing.
