Elaine Bovis, 80, of Kansas City, MO and formerly of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 in Kansas City.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday with the family present at 5:00 p.m. and a Trisagion service at 6 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Elaine was born July 22, 1937 in Aigion, Greece. She was the daughter of Theofanis and Andromaxi (Korfiatis) Dousias. In 1973 Elaine came to the United States and settled in Sioux City. On Nov. 18, 1973 she married Nicholas J. Bovis. Elaine was a tailor for men’s clothing stores, Morey’s and Raymond’s and then Sadoff’s.
She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the ladies group at the church, Philoptochos.
Elaine enjoyed cooking, volunteering at the church and spending time with her grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Nicholas; daughter, Maria (Peter) McCoy all of Kansas City; grandchildren, Bennet and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Konstantinos Dousias.
Memorials may be made in her name to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church restoration project.
