Barbara Murray

   Barbara Murray, 65, of Sioux City died December 20, 2017, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a short illness.

   Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel (822 Jennings St.) in Sioux City.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

   Barbara, the daughter of Marvin and Doris Larson, was born May 29, 1952 in Luverne, MN.  At an early age, Barbara’s family moved to Sioux City and she attended Heelan High School.  On November 20, 1969, Barbara was united in marriage to Jerry Murray in Moville and this union was blessed with three children.

   Barbara worked in the optical field and most recently Interbake Foods until her retirement in 2017.

   Barbara cherished her puppies “The Girls” – Sweetness, Taz and Heidi and also enjoyed gambling.  Over the years, she attended Catholic Churches in Sioux City.

   Barbara is survived by her husband of 48 years Jerry Murray; three children, Diane Birdwell, John (Demaris) Murray and Alicia (David) Shaw; grandchildren, Kasey Birdwell, Jenny Ackland, Jayme Broadway and Dylan Perez; brothers, Marvin and Chuck Larson; and sisters, Margaret (Dan) Tromp, Benita (Lanny) Mullins and Aimee Larson (special friend John).

   She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rod Larson.
