Jodi S. Rotert

Jodi S. Rotert, 57 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday December 28, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jodi was born August 5, 1960 in Sioux City, she was the daughter of Arnold and Patricia (Willett) Olson. Jodi grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools before her family moved to Kingsley, IA where she graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School. Following high school, Jodi attended Beauty School.

On November 25, 1983, Jodi married Steve Croston and to this union 2 children were born, Calie and Bret. On August 20, 1992, Jodi married David Rotert and to this union a daughter Lauren was born and two step children, Brian and Amanda.

Jodi worked at Hy-Vee, as a beautician for several years and then worked at several restaurants in the Sioux City area including Hungry’s in Dakota City.

Jodi enjoyed scrapbooking, her cats, karaoke, going to and having garage sales, and spending time with her children and grandchildren whom were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed collecting Wizard of Oz memorabilia.

Survivors include her children: Calie Goertz (Aaron) of Shawnee, KS, Bret Croston of Mission, KS, Lauren Menard (Jordan) of Moville, IA, Brian Rotert (Heidi) of Rockford, IL, Amanda Griswold of Wichita, KS; 2 sisters and a brother: Camille Farley (John) of Sioux City, Jerrod Olson (Mary Beth) of Wahoo, NE, Melissa Pierce (Douglas) of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren: Kennedy and Lincoln Goertz, Lance, Chloe, Trey and Francesca Rotert, Clayton and Isaac Griswold. Jodi is also survived by several nieces and nephews including baby B.

Jodi was preceded in death by husband David, her parents and a brother Jeff Olson.

Jodi was a social butterfly and her fun, caring and giving personality will be missed by many. She is now reunited with her loving husband Dave.
