SIOUX CITY | Geraldine P. Eik, 88, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at Countryside Health Care Center.
 
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
 
Geraldine was born Dec. 1, 1929 in James, Iowa to Sylvester L. and Mildred G. (Ragan) Woolworth. She attended Leeds High School. On Nov. 6, 1948 she married John J. Eik, Jr. Together they raised 3 children.
 
Geri worked as a checker and bookkeeper for Laurence’s Grocery Store for 27 years. She then worked for10 years at Wells Blue Bunny. After her retirement Geri worked part time for the Sioux City Community School District in the lunchroom at North High School. Her husband, John passed away May 28, 2015 in Sioux City.
 
Geri enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She loved music and she loved to sing. Geri often entertained the residents at Countryside with her singing. She was of the Lutheran faith.
                                                
Survivors include 3 children, Steve (Jessica) Eik of North Port, FL, Debi Eik of Sioux City and Randy (Marshalle) Eik of Johnson City, TN; 4 siblings, Doreen Bailey of Sioux City, Donna (Al) Baustian of Sioux City, Merle (Jeanette) Woolworth of Missouri and Janice (Dick) Gatz of Minnesota; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers, Lester, Melvin and Kenneth Woolworth; and a brother-in-law, Richard Bailey.
 
Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
