Arlene R. Cosier

September 11, 1928 — November 13, 2017

Arlene R. Cosier, 89, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at Westwood Specialty Care after a 14 year battle with dementia.
  
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Arlene was born Sept. 11, 1928 in Sioux City to Irvin and Rosella (Hoisington) Wall. She attended Sioux City schools. On Dec. 18, 1946 she married Jimmy M. Cosier in Council Bluffs, IA. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and helped her husband run several businesses.

 

After Jimmy’s retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling in their motorhome visiting all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. Jimmy passed away Feb. 21, 2016 in Sioux City. Arlene also loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

 

Survivors include her children, Sheri (Darrell) Chambers of Sioux City, Jimmy E. (Faith) Cosier of Sioux City and Jeff (Cheryl) Cosier of Rapid City, SD; a brother, Gerald Wall of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and another on the way; and nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Herbert W. Scott; husband; brother, Howard (Edna) Wall; and a sister-in-law, Bessie Wall.
