Dorothy M. Foix, 92 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Dorothy was born December 22, 1924 in Levant, KS; she was the daughter of John and Daisy (Spriggs) Kenefake. Dorothy grew up in the Kanorado, KS area and graduated from Kanorado High School. She came to Sioux City in 1942.
On November 9, 1946, Dorothy married Marcel Foix, he died December 29, 2000.
Dorothy worked at the Sioux City Auditorium Concessions for 18 years and also worked for Aalfs Manufacturing and Gerkins Windows.
Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She was very active in the Altar Society and Rosary Society of the Church. She also enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her children: Michael Foix of Sioux City, Marsha Honke of Sioux City, Aaron Foix and his wife Cynthia of Hornick, IA, Katherine Bogenrief of Sioux City, Linda Foix of Maple Grove, MN, Timothy Foix of Sioux City and Mary Miller of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Patricia Bockholt, her son-in-law Gregory Bogenrief and her siblings: Mildred Carpenter, Mary Agnes “Mamie” Sprinkle, Thomas Kenefake, Lucille Mingo, Florence Jones, Franklin Kenefake and Evelyn Matson.
