Kenneth O. Vanderlinden

October 1, 1936 — November 6, 2017

Kenneth O. Vanderlinden, 81 of Sioux City, IA passed into the presence of his Savior on Monday, November 6, 2017 at home with his family by his side.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at First Evangelical Free Church in Sioux City.  Private family burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Kenneth was born October 1, 1936 to Leonard and Lorraine (Sigler) Vanderlinden. He was united in marriage to Dee Taylor on January 14, 1956 in Sioux City.

He and Dee were partners with his brother-in-law Jack Taylor and wife, Karen, in Sunkist Bakery for 27 years. After selling, he remained working at Sunkist for 7 years.  Later he worked at Country side Nursing Home for several years followed by driving for the Siouxland Blood Bank for 10 years. Kenneth was a proud Blood Donor and had given 37 ½ gallons over many years.

He loved the Lord and his family. He is survived by his wife Dee, son,  Kenny Vanderlinden of Sioux City, daughter Kellie (Jon) Henderson of Belton, MO and daughter Karrie (Mark) Edwards of South Sioux City; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Carley, David, Josh & Jacob Henderson, Danielle Updegraff (Andrew), and Rachel & Nicholle Edwards; 3 great-grandsons, Phoenix Medina, Elias Updegraff , & Nathan Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary and infant son Allen and daughter Susan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice or the Sioux City Gospel Mission.
