Mike C. Anderson, 42, of Dakota City, NE died November 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following a short battle with cancer. Cremation will take place.  Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City.  There will be a Celebration of Life Prayer Service at 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Michael C. “Mike”, son of Terry and Christina (Everett) Anderson, was born in England on June 8, 1975.  He graduated from high school in Mountain Home, ID in 1993.  He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.  Mike received his R.N. degree from WITCC in 2001.  He worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center and in Oakland, NE and Omaha, NE.  In addition, he did travel nursing. On June 3, 1995, Mike married Tammy Brown in Sioux City. Mike enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and his motorcyle.  He liked listening to music, writing and composing his own.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids.  He was loved by all his co-workers and will be remembered as a great father, friend, nurse, and educator. Mike is survived by his wife, Tammy of Dakota City; daughter, Samantha of Lincoln, NE; son, Greg of Dakota City; his father, Terry Anderson of Mountain Home, ID; aunt, Rachel (Bruce) Choate of Farmingdale, ME; uncle, Bob (Cindy) Anderson of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and many cousins in Maine and family in England. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christina Everett; paternal and maternal grandparents; and aunt, Martha Jordan.
